| I strongly oppose vouchers for private schools. My District has some of the best public schools in the state of Georgia and they are not being fully funded at this time. The last thing we need is to take more money away from them at a time when they are facing increasingly tight budgets. As for merit pay, it depends on what standard is used to determine pay. Under the right circumstances and with the right standards, I would be open to the idea of supporting a merit pay system. | |||

| I will work tirelessly to attract jobs and promote tourism throughout the District. In addition, I will oppose spending money Georgia does not have on projects we don't need. I will also work to return public education to its deserved spot as the State's top priority. Lastly, I will oppose tax increases in any form and will work to repeal the 71 tax increases and prevent the state worker furloughs my opponent voted for during the 2010 Legislative Session. Now is certainly not the time to take money out of the pockets of hard working Georgians. |
